4,200 gallons of oil leaked into the "Creek" from a 12' inch pipe
that had busted. It took the combined efforts of numerous
departments, and 40 personal to contain the leak and keep it from
reaching the San Jacinto River. The oil floated 4.5 miles down stream before it was finally contained.
The pipe had been leaking for about 7 hrs before the fire department
was notified.
