FROM THE CHIEF

Welcome to the website of River Plantation Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

River Plantation VFD is a Combination Fire Department made up of 26 volunteers, Fulltime Fire Chief, a part time Assistant Chief and seven part time duty crew. The Department operates out of 2 stations. Station 171 is located at 674 Chapel Hill Drive in the River Plantation subdivision. Station 171 houses an Engine, utility/cascade truck, and a medical response car. Station 172 is located at 13821 FM 1314 and it houses an Engine, a Tanker, a booster truck, and a rescue boat. In addition, 2 administrative vehicles are available to the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief.

River Plantation Fire Dept. responds to all types of Fire and Haz-mat calls along with assisting the public and other agencies. The Fire Dept. also responds in our area as First Responders to assist Montgomery County Hospital District with medical or trauma calls.

Station 172 is manned seven days a week 24/7 by duty crew personnel and volunteers. Station 171 will be manned starting in February during the day by duty crew personnel and volunteers. Volunteers will continue to provide service at night out of that station.

Monday nights starting at 7 pm RPVFD holds its weekly training at Station 172. The training is open to the public and we encourage everyone to stop by and visit.

Thanks for visiting our Website and if you’re looking to join, come on by and visit with us. There are many things to do in the Fire Service then just fight fire. We are always looking for support members along with more Firefighters or medical responders.
